The Texas Queerlesque Festival is proud to support two charities as the beneficiaries of our fundraising efforts.
We have an outstanding collection of high-quality, exciting prizes, which will be raffled off on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Raffle tickets are $1 per ticket, and $10 around the world. 100% of raffle collections will be donated to these organizations after the festival. Cash donations will also be accepted.
This year, we are dividing funds from the charity raffles and donations between two outstanding organizations: allgo, a statewide queer people of color organization, and Lambda Legal, a national legal organization focused on the rights of LGB and Trans people.
allgo celebrates and nurtures vibrant queer people of color communities in Texas and beyond, through cultural arts, wellness, and social justice programming, including supporting artists and artistic expression within our diverse communities; promoting health within a wellness model; and mobilizing and building coalitions among groups marginalized by race/ethnicity, gender/gender identity, sexual orientation/sexual identity in order to enact change.
Founded in 1973, Lambda Legal is the oldest and largest national legal organization whose mission is to achieve full recognition of the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and those with HIV through impact litigation, education and public policy work. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, they do not charge their clients for legal representation or advocacy, and receive no government funding. Their organization depends on contributions from supporters around the country.
